WONCA Welcomes New Members

We are thrilled to welcome the Syrian Association of Family Medicine, the World Federation for Mental Health, and the Department of General Practice at the University of Oslo to our growing WONCA family. These new additions to WONCA's membership signify an important step towards fostering global collaboration and excellence in family medicine.

The Syrian Association of Family Medicine’s rejoins WONCA as a Full Member Organization at a crucial time. This membership brings more than just the association back into the fold; it presents a vital platform for increased collaboration and knowledge exchange with family medicine professionals working under extraordinary circumstances in Syria. As WONCA, this move reinforces our commitment to bolster the development of family medicine in the East Mediterranean Region. It is a significant step that further highlights the importance of resilient healthcare systems, solidifying WONCA’s representation in the area.

In recognition of its exceptional contributions to mental health, the World Federation for Mental Health is now an Organization in Collaborative Relations with WONCA. This collaboration will allow joint initiatives, share resources, and exchange best practices between our two organizations.

Additionally, we are pleased to welcome the Department of General Practice at the University of Oslo as our new Academic Member. This membership highlights the importance of academic institutions in shaping the future of family medicine and primary healthcare.

These new members bring diverse perspectives and expertise that will greatly contribute to our mission. We remain committed to fostering collaboration, supporting professional development, and advocating for the vital role of family doctors in improving the health and well-being of individuals and communities worldwide.
