Rural round up: The development of the Rural Family Medicine Café
Mayara Floss is a keynote speaker at the WONCA World Rural health conference coming to Cairns, Australia from 29 April- 2 May 2017. she created the Rural Family Medicine Café to provide a forum to discuss Rural Health and has now written a "how to" manual so others can expand on the rural cafe movement

WHO Framework on integrated people-centred health services website
At the Sixty-ninth World Health Assembly Member States officially adopted the Framework on integrated people-centred health services (IPCHS) and its supporting resolution, formally giving the WHO Secretariat the mandate to work across the organization to support the implementation, national adaptation and operationalization of the Framework. The new website aims to be a steward for the Framework
High-level UN Commission recommends reform of health systems
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set an ambitious agenda to improve the lives of all. Recent outbreaks have additionally confirmed the urgency of building resilient health systems and strengthening global health security. Health workers and health employment reside at the heart of the SDG agenda.

WHO global survey on the use of CT in asymptomatic individuals
WHO is conducting a global survey on the use of computed tomography (CT) in asymptomatic individuals for individual health assessment to gather information on the current status of this practice, and results are to be presented in Rio.

On 28 May 2016 at the Sixty-ninth World Health Assembly, WHO Member States officially adopted the Framework on integrated people-centred health services (IPCHS) and its resolution on “Strengthening integrated, people-centred health services”, formally giving the WHO Secretariat the mandate to work on this new programmatic area.
WONCA delegation at the 69th World Health Assembly
WONCA was represented at the 69th World Health Assembly by Michael Kidd, Amanda Howe, Garth Manning and Luisa Pettigrew. During the WHA this year new resolutions were adopted on a host of topics from the Sustainable Development Goals to Mycetoma. Margaret Chan, Director General, during her speech highlighted approval of the new programme for health emergencies. She welcomed the 2030 agenda for sustainable development and member states’ commitment to universal health coverage. The Zika outbreak featured frequently in discussions.
